
Rosalynn Bliss
Rosalynn Bliss became the City of Grand Rapids’ first female Mayor when she took office on Jan. 1, 2016. She was re-elected for a second term in Nov. 2019. She previously served as a Second Ward City Commissioner for 10 years.
Bliss earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and criminal justice from the University of South Alabama and a master’s in social work from Michigan State University. She is an active member of the community who has been recognized and honored locally and statewide. Some recognitions include:

- Crain’s 100 Most Influential Women
- Five-time recipient of Grand Rapids Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty distinction
